Our advisor, Mr. Dotta, set up a meeting with scientist Rudolph Berens (CEO of Bear Oceanics). He works for a company that controls Cyanobacteria in Lake Okeechobee. We reached out to his corporation and got to speak with him via a zoom meeting. We showed him our solution and robot and he gave us such valuable advice in how to change and advance it. Additionally, he talked to us about his own robot and some of the ideas that he implemented. For example, he explained to us that his company harnesses cyanobacteria from the lake and his processing facility turns it into a paraffin-wax like a product that serves the same purposes but burns cleaner. This converted algae is sold to companies for a profit. Speaking with him greatly benefitted us as we got a professional pair of eyes on it. We were considering factors that we would've never thought of because we don't have the experience that he has. He talked about how birds and storms have hurt some of his robots, so he encouraged us to think about how to ensure safety.
